City Councillors in Nanaimo are about to get another earful about the fate of the Colliery Dams.
Council is going to get a look at the report from a special technical committee, Monday night but they won’t be making any decisions about the dams themselves.
And that’s just fine with Jeff Solomon of the Colliery Dam Park Preservation Society. The group quit the technical committee last month, and Solomon says he’ll be trying to convince councillors there’s no need to rush ahead.
Solomon says the Society fears councillors are being pushed by City staff to move ahead too quickly, and are being steered toward the most disruptive and costly of the two options currently on the table.
