World Juniors to make a stop in Nanaimo

The City of Nanaimo will host some training camps and pre-competition games for the International Ice Hockey Federation when the World Juniors come to the province next month.

Athletes, coaches, and volunteers from the Czech Republic and Slovakia will be in the Harbour City.

There will be a pre-competition game on December 19th at the Frank Crane Arena.

Tickets are 20 dollars.

Ian Thorpe, the Acting Mayor, for the City of Nanaimo says the training camps and the Pre-Competition game will raise the City’s profile on the world stage, and have economic and social impacts for the Harbour City.

The World Junior Championships go from December 26th to January 5 with games in Victoria and Vancouver.
