The District of Sechelt is expecting a couple of key reports on the airport expansion project.
Sechelt has been working on plans to get the airport up to standard to handle daily scheduled flights, and they’ve been trying to get the federal and provincial governments to put up some money to make it happen.
Councillor Chris Moore chairs the Airport Advisory Development Committee. He says one report is focusing on technical things like whether the airport would need a control tower. The other is trying to put some hard numbers on the economic benefits.
The Committee has also been working with lobby firms to try to get the ears of decision makers in Ottawa and Victoria. The reports are due at the end of the month.
