Oceanside RCMP say an 80-year-old woman is dead after she was struck by a car.
She was found lying on the side Roberton Boulevard in French Creek on Wednesday around 3:00pm, not far from her home.
She was rushed to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital but died as a result of head trauma later that night.
Investigators are confident her injuries were consistent with being struck by a passing vehicle, but they haven’t identified a vehicle or a driver at this point.
