If you have a tip that could help solve a local crime, you can now text it to Nanaimo & District Crime Stoppers.
RCMP Constable Gary O’Brien says they typically get around 400 tips a year, and by accepting text messages, they expect that number to increase.
O’Brien says the text messages still let tipsters remain anonymous.
You can submit a tip by texting the number 2-7-4-6-3-7. In the message, type the word Nanaimo, and then add whatever information you want to pass along.
