Nanaimo RCMP are warning the public about a high-risk, violent sex offender who has recently been released from jail and is now living in Nanaimo.
Constable Gary O’Brien says 27-year-old John Seward was released from custody after serving five and a half years for aggravated sexual assault.
O’Brien says Nanaimo RCMP are aware of all the conditions Seward must abide by. He says the safety of the community their their main priority. He says they are checking in with him on a regular basis, and if he does not abide by the conditions, he can be arrested immediately.
A public notice issued by BC Corrections says Seward “has maintained a pattern of predatory and opportunistic violent sexual offending”. O’Brien says Seward’s past victims were all women, between the ages of 15 and 55.
Seward is 5’7″ and weighs 161 lbs. He is Aboriginal with brown hair and brown eyes.
