Hamperville in Nanaimo needs volunteers, so do Sunshine Coast Elves

Clients are already picking up their Christmas hampers in Nanaimo, thanks to Hamperville. Run by the Loaves and Fishes Food Bank and the Salvation Army, the program has been ensuring no one goes hungry at Christmas in Nanaimo for the last 12 years.

Peter Sinclair, Executive Director of the Loaves and Fishes Food Bank, says they could still use some help.

Sinclair says volunteers are required to help clients pick out the items for their Christmas hamper. Go online to www.hampervillenanaimo.org to sign up as a volunteer.

Hamperville gave out more than 2450 hampers last Christmas and helped feed more than 5400 people in Nanaimo.

On the Sunshine Coast the Elves Club also needs all hands on deck for packing and distribution.  It starts Dec 18th at 7:30am at the Christian Life Assembly Church in Gibsons.
