Fall Field Cricket

Adults can reach up to one inch and make that noise that we all know with their itty bitty little wings!

A female is attracted to the sounds of the older crickets around and can lay 50 eggs at one time, and can lay up to 400 in a lifetime.  They tend to burrow and live in earth holes or under the protection of yard debris.

Their diets consists of predominantly seeds and invertebrates.  One generation born per year, and if they lay eggs in fall or winter, the eggs will stay just fine until spring.  They also like to try and sneak into our houses over the winter.  Can you blame them!? hahah
