They are known for their distinctive yipping and howling calls, which can often be heard echoing through the coastal forests and open spaces. Coyotes play an important role in the ecosystem, helping to control populations of small mammals and scavenging on carrion. While they generally avoid human contact, encounters with pets or livestock can occur, making it important for residents to take precautions to minimize conflicts and ensure coexistence with these fascinating creatures.
