Large amount of GHB and other drugs found during raids in Nanaimo & Ladysmith

A large amount of GHB was seized and charges are pending against two men after Nanaimo RCMP and the Vancouver Island Emergency response Team raided two homes last week.
A 36-year-old man was released on a Promise to Appear. He’ll be in court March 31 to face drug charges. Police are still looking for a 39-year-old man.
Guns, drugs and stolen items were seized from a home on Harewood Rd in Nanaimo and Prospect Drive in Ladysmith.
Nanaimo RCMP Superintendent Mark Fisher says numerous drugs were found, along with four industrial-size barrels of GHB and other chemicals used to make GHB.
Fisher says heroin, crystal meth, cocaine, oxytocin pills, Ativan, steroids, MDMA, and ecstasy were also found. Along with the drugs, RCMP also seized scales, baggies, cell phones and money counters.
The Bomb Disposal Unit also had to be called to the Ladysmith home to deal with a pipe bomb. That’s where two loaded handguns, ammunition, a silencer and two cross bows were also discovered.
Among the stolen items were a Bobcat, motorcycle, snow blower, three generators and chain saws.
