Curbside collection calendars delayed by Canada Post strike

The City of Nanaimo says the curbside collection calendars for 2025 are ready, but they won’t be mailed at this time because of the Canada Post Strike.

Despite this, the city says there are different ways you can stay up to date when it comes to garbage or recycling.

They recommend downloading the Nanaimo Recycles App, which can set reminders leading up to and on collection day, and can let you look at future collection days.

Other ways include signing up for emails through the City’s website, or by collecting your schedule in-person either at the Service and Resource Centre, Beban Park, Bowen Park, Nanaimo Aquatic Centre, and Nanaimo Ice Centre.

They say you can also get help at the local branch of the Vancouver Island Regional Library, with printouts costing 25 cents a page.
