If you are currently using monthly, semester or 10 ticket passes on BC Transit BC Transit says you will be out of luck starting in December.
According to BC Transit, in favor of the new UMO pass they’re discontinuing the other passes to make riding public transit easier and more affordable by switching over to a more convenient method of paying.
Effective Dec. 1, riders will be able to carry a cash balance on their UMO card, which BC Transit says will be drawn from as riders take trips which will automatically cap after a rider’s second payment of the day which will be less costly for riders.
They add the monthly pass will be changed to a 30-day pass and can be activated on any day of the month for unlimited trips within their transit system.
BC Transit is urging any riders who have not made the transition to UMO to consider the switch before Dec. 1 to make sure they save money.
