RCMP seeking information after armed grocery store robbery

Nanaimo RCMP are seeking information about an armed robbery.

A man armed with a knife robbed the James Street General Store on Victoria Road Thursday at 9 p.m., according to police. They say police responded with dog services but the suspect fled before officers arrived.

The clerk told officers the suspect walked into the business, produced a knife and demanded money from till, according to police. They say the clerk complied and the suspect left, heading northbound on Needham Street.

Police say there weren’t any injuries in the incident.

The suspect is described as five-foot-ten with a slim build, dark complexion and wearing a dark hoody and blue medical mask and gloves.
