The Town of Gibsons says it’s now feeding water from the aquifer into Zones 1 and 2 after Thursday’s start-up of an emergency chlorination system at Well Number 3.
All aquifer water is now being chlorinated in the wake of e-coli contamination that got into the system last month. The engineering department is telling people there will likely be fluctuations in the chlorine levels as the equipment gets calibrated.
They also say the inspection of Parkland Reservoir complete, but there were no obvious signs a problem there was the source of the e-coli.
Stage 3 watering restrictions remain in place.
