A youth was arrested near an elementary school in Nanaimo after police received a call about someone carrying a gun.
Constable Gary O’Brien of Nanaimo RCMP says it happened near a school on the north side of the city.
The school implemented a ‘hold and secure’ procedure as police located and arrested a teenager on a backfield.
Constable O’Brien says an imitation weapon was seized by police during the arrest.
