The Sunshine Coast group gearing up for a major protest against BC Ferries cuts is looking to get other ferry dependent communities on board.
They’re calling themselves the “BC Ferry Coalition” and they say after getting frustrated with the latest public consultation, it’s time to think about a long-term strategy for community involvement and action on Ferries.
Jef Keighley is part of the Sunshine Coast chapter of the Council of Senior Citizens. He says that network is going to help, and others are already committing support.
The group plans to stage a series of protests January 18th along the length of Highway 101, and to spur similar protests in ferry dependent communities including Nanaimo.
