The Coastal Fire Centre is reminding campers about campfire safety heading into this long weekend.
Donna MacPherson says the warm weather is increasing the risk, rain in some areas should mitigate the risks……
Campfire size, MacPherson says is half a metre by a half a metre.
She says it has to be in a well cleared area, away from any other debris, you have to be beside it and when you leave it has to be put out.
MacPherson says that means the campfire needs to be cold to the touch.
