Stigma shouldn’t surround dementia

46 per cent of 1500 people, aged 18 to 65,  said they would feel ashamed or embarrassed if they had dementia.
That’s according to a new survey released by the Alzheimer Society of B.C.
Spokesperson, Jane Hope says a new campaign aims to end the stigma and fear surrounding dementia…..
Hope says people with dementia can feel frustrated when they look fine but are struggling with the symptoms.
January is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.
To help end the stigma, you can find stories of people living with dementia on a dedicated campaign website at ilivewithdementia.ca.
