From 2012 to 2016, six workers died and there were nearly 5,000 accepted time-loss claims at WorkSafe B.C. as a result of incidents involving ladders.
This time of year many people, who are not necessarily aware of ladder safety will be digging out their ladders to put up Christmas lights or just to clean the eavestroughs and WorkSafe B.C. has some advice.
Dan Strand says you need to make sure your ladder is long enough, it should be long enough to reach three feet higher than the rooftop…..
Strand says set the ladder up on level ground and maintain three points of contact.
