Upper Deck gets thumbs up Ebbtide proposal denied

Sechelt’s council has agreed to give the first reading of a bylaw to approve for a homeless shelter at the Upper Deck Guesthouse.

Angela Lettman with the district says the rezoning process will now go through a required public hearing which is happening on Tuesday, December 19th.

BC Housing also won’t be moving forward with a homeless shelter near Ebbtide and Trail after council voted in favor to deny their request.

The district plans to reach out the public next summer to get their idea about an emergency shelter on the Sunshine Coast.
