The Chief of the Sechelt Fire Department says it’s not out of the ordinary to smell smoke in the community around this time.
Chief Trevor Pike says there are a couple of explanations for this….
The other reason Pike believes that’s contributing to the smokey skies is that people are starting up their wood stoves and fireplaces.
Pike is advising residents to properly dispose of your firewood and to also have a thorough clean of your chimney before using it.
