NDP Ferries Critic Claire Trevena is getting at least a partial answer to her questions on the future of BC Ferries’ Nanaimo – Horseshoe Bay route.
Trevena has been pressing Transportation Minister Todd Stone for answers after reports a government MLA was telling constituents in Horseshoe Bay the whole route could face the axe, in favour of the Tsawwassen – Duke Point run.
She got her answer during Thursday’s Question Period;
Stone didn’t commit to no cuts, and the government has already said the major routes are next in line. Ferries is being told to trim some $4.9-million in expenses by April of 2016.
