Day one of the advance voting in the Nanaimo by-election is in the rearview mirror.
Sheila Gurrie is the City Clerk and Chief Election Officer….
Gurrie says it was considerably less, however, than the number of people who turned out to vote in the recent events centre referendum.
One thousand people voted in day one of the advance poll on that issue.
There are 13 people running for a single council seat.
There will be another advance poll next Wednesday, also at the Nanaimo Alliance Church on Meredith Road.
General voting day is July 8th.
