There was money in the federal budget for infrastructure and First Nations initiatives.
Nanaimo Ladysmith NDP MP Sheila Malcolmson says there was a pent up hunger for that kind of spending.
On the other hand, Malcolmson says there was nothing to help reduce the cost of using ferries in our region…..
She says there was no money for the coast guard service in Comox or Tofino.
There was also no money for agriculture.
Malcolmson says, it’s early yet, but there appears to be some money to get the inquiry into murdered and missing indigenous women started.
