RCMP are investigating after a body was found in the water at Stone’s Marina at 1690 Stewart Avenue in Nanaimo.
Two men, out for a walk around 8:30 Saturday morning saw the body of a man in the water and called 9-1-1.
Paramedics, fire crews and the RCMP responded but the man was pronounced dead at the scene and the coroner was called.
The Nanaimo RCMP Serious Crime Unit is investigating but at this point the death does not appear suspicious.
The man has been identified however until his next of kin have been notified his name will not be released.
