Bus fares on the Sunshine Coast could be changing in the spring.
The Sunshine Coast Regional District has been looking at suggestions from BC Transit.
The Infrastructure Services Committee is supporting a BC Transit suggestion for a single cash fare of $2, a $5 day pass and a $60 monthly pass.
Greg Hill of BC Transit says it’s a simple, clear system that could have some benefits.
The new standard fare would 25 cents lower than the current fare, but it does away with youth and senior discounts.

There would still be a discount monthly pass, although that will go from $38 to $42.
If the full SCRD board approves the plan, the changes would start May 1st of next year.
