Parking management to remain “in-house” operation in Nanaimo

Nanaimo City Councillors are favouring the idea of parking management staying as an “in-house” operation.

It’s been run that way since 2013, but the deadline for a decision about whether to carry on with the arrangement is coming up at the end of the year.

Councillors delayed it last month because they wanted more information, but yesterday they voted to stay with an in-house model.

Wendy Pratt says the results so far show it’s the right move.

Part of the information Councillors were waiting on was what parking revenue has been doing since 2013. They heard it’s expected to be up by around $174,000 this year.
