Nanaimo RCMP asking for help identifying suspect

The Nanaimo RCMP need help identifying a suspect believed to be responsible for two armed robberies.

They both happened on Thursday August 13, 2015.

The first robbery was at 2:40 am at the 7-Eleven on Terminal Ave. A man wearing a wig and holding a large knife demanded cash, and then made off on foot. The man was wearing a red Hurley t-shirt, baggy grey sweatpants and grey/black shoes with white laces.

The next robbery happened at 10:52pm at the Northfield Esso. Again, a man wearing a wig walked in brandishing a knife, demanded cash and then left on foot. In suspect was wearing a dark-coloured ball cap, a light grey hoodie and dark pants.

“We believe the same person is responsible for both incidents,” said Nanaimo RCMP Constable Gary O’Brien. “Hopefully these pictures will assist the community in identifying this individual or provide information on the knife used.”

If you have any information, please call the Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
