Woman hit and killed in Ucluelet

A 78-year-old woman in Ucluelet was hit and killed by an SUV as she walked along a path running adjacent to Pacific Rim Highway. Police say it happened during the morning of Thursday, January 30. The SUV was towing a boat, and witnesses reported the trailer hauling the boat may have been fishtailing just before it hit her.The driver and passenger in the SUV were not hurt and are co-operating with police. The coroners service and the RCMP are investigating.
