Nanaimo Precast is still assessing the damage after a fire tore through one of their precast buildings.
Concerned drivers called 9-1-1 around 6:00am this morning after seeing flames coming from the building, as they passed by on the Trans Canada Hwy in South Wellington.
President AJ Hustins says three volunteer fire departments responded but the damage was extensive.
Hustins says the building was gutted but luckily no one was injured.
He says about a third of their operation is out of commission for now. They’re still determining the full extent of the damage.
An investigation is underway into how the fire started.
