Environmental groups think they've got a strong case against JRP report on Northern Gateway

A Nanaimo man who’s with one of the groups launching a court challenge of the Joint Review Panel report on Northern Gateway says he thinks they’ve got a strong case.

Brian Falconer is the Marine Operations Coordinator for the Raincoast Conservation Foundation.  The Foundation is joining Forest Ethics Advocacy and the Living Oceans Society in the court action.

The JRP says the project should be approved as long as 209 conditions are met, but Falconer says they want to block the federal cabinet from using the report to make their decision.

Falconer says the evidence they feel was ignored includes submissions made during the panel’s hearings and some evidence that the federal government only released after the hearings were over.
