The Sunshine Coast Regional District could be getting another chance for input on Lululemon founder Chip Wilson’s plan for a mammoth dock and breakwater in the Middlepoint area.
The SCRD has already raised objections with the province, which has the final say.
Speaking on Coast TV, SCRD Chair Garry Nohr said the basic concern remains the scale of the proposal… and the possible precedent.
That said, Nohr doesn’t think there’s much appetite for the SCRD to take over the authority for foreshore leases and dock permits from the province.
The province and Sechelt First Nation, meanwhile, are continuing negotiations on a long-promised agreement for dealing with dock applications in Sechelt traditional territory.
