ARSBC says Annapolis sinking "imminent", but opponents remain determined to stop it

The Artificial Reef Society of BC says after years of work they’re finally in a position to sink the former HMCS Annapolis off Gambier Island.

In fact, they’re saying a sink date is “imminent”, but a group fighting the plan says the sinking can’t take place because there are still contamination issues and outstanding court actions.

Gary MacDonald is with Save Halkett Bay.

The ARSBC says Annapolis will be the most “environmentally prepared” artificial reef in the world. But, MacDonald says his group remains determined to stop the sinking, and hasn’t ruled out court injunctions or even a blockade of the Halkett Bay.
