There has been 160 wildfires to date in the Coastal Fire Centre.
According to Marg Drysdale, 117 of those have been person caused and 43 were caused by lightening.
She says the forest fire situation is pretty serious at the moment…..
Drysdale says it’s important anyone who sees a smoke column report it to the Fire Centre as soon as possible.
Campfires are currently prohibited throughout the Coastal Fire Centre, with the exception of Haida Gwaii and the area known as the Fog Zone , but are allowed throughout the rest of the BC Wildfire Service s jurisdiction.
