George Anderson
George Anderson is Nanaimo born and was the youngest person ever to be elected to Nanaimo council, and has served as the chair of VIU’s board of governors.
He says he has also been active in the community by volunteering with the Canadian Bar Association, the Nanaimo-Ladysmith Public Schools Foundation, and other groups.
Anderson says he’s a committed community leader with the skills, energy and desire to serve the people of Nanaimo-Lantzville.

Gwen O’Mahony
A former NDP MLA for Chilliwack – Hope, Gwen O’Mahony served as the Deputy Critic for Advanced Education and Skills Training.
She has a master’s in business administration from Vancouver Island University and started a business during the global pandemic to help small to medium sized businesses adjust to the changing marketplace.
She withdrew her membership in the NDP over the decriminalization of the possession of small amounts of illegal drugs and joined the BC Conservatives, and supports a common-sense approach.

Lia Versaevel
A former US Federal Marshall, licensed private investigator, and mediator, Lia Versaevel has an extensive background in mediation, law enforcement, and corrections.
An advocate for marginalized communities, Versaevel says she is deeply committed to issues of social justice.
She has deep roots on the island and says moving here in 1971 has allowed her to serve and be passionate about the Nanaimo – Lantzville riding.
