Port Theatre hosting Public Panel Discussion

The Port Theatre is planning to expand, and they’re looking for crucial feedback from Nanaimo residents. Called the Community Performing Arts Centre Project, the idea is to create more affordable, flexible performance space in Nanaimo.

Port Theatre General Manager Bruce Halliday says they’re hosting a Public Panel Discussion tomorrow night to talk about plans to build a new theatre.

Halliday says he’ll be on the panel, along with the Port Theatre’s Board President, Technical Director and two members of arts community.

He says feedback is part of the public consultation required, since it’ll be a City-owned building, but they also want input from potential users.

The Public Panel Discussion will run from 6:30-9:00pm on Thursday, June 5 at the Port Theatre. Doors will open at 5:30pm.
