Mission Pt. Park gets accessible viewing platform

Just in time for Spring, the District of Sechelt has added a new feature to make Mission Point Park more accessible.

Thanks to the Lions Club, the park at the mouth of Chapman Creek now has a special viewing platform.  It offers a panorama of Davis Bay, the popular bird watching area on the Creek banks, and – on a clear day – a great view of Vancouver Island.

The District says it was constructed on a spot previously invested by the highly-invasive plant Japanese knotweed.

Mayor John Henderson says the District is still looking at ideas for another piece of property it recently bought not far from Mission Point and Brookman Parks.  He says they’ll likely go to the public for input in May.
