Members and staff of the Ladysmith Chamber of Commerce are working hard on an economic development plan.
Chamber manager, Mark Drysdale says the process started about a year ago when 4 possibilies to improve the business environment were highlighted.
Two of them though, improving tourism product development and attracting a major attraction or hotel to the community were just too ambitious for the resources.
Drysdale says there were a couple of other initiatives staff and Chamber members felt they could tackle.
The other initiative is research on the cost of doing business.
