Eagle rescued by Sunshine Coast RCMP

An eagle has Sunshine Coast RCMP to thank for his freedom.

Constable Mark Wiebe found it wedged between some rocks at Sechelt’s Snickett Park on Tuesday. Worried it would become trapped when the tide came in, he decided to intervene.

With help from Conservation Officer Dean Miller, he got it out from between the rocks. Constable Harrison Mohr says that’s when things got interesting.

Mohr says at that point, it was clear the eagle wasn’t injured.

Mohr says their officers deal with a lot of challenging situations, but this was a unique one.
