Ladysmith RCMP seek help identifying man in indecent act investigation

Ladysmith RCMP are asking for the public’s help identifying a man accused of committing an indecent act near the Nanaimo River.

Police said a woman reported seeing the man around 3 p.m. on Sept. 7 while she was recreating near the river, just north of Spruston Road.

The man is described as white, in his late 50s, with a slim build and balding light brown hair. He was last seen wearing light blue swim shorts and carrying a blue towel.

Investigators have released a composite sketch prepared with the woman’s assistance in hopes someone will recognize the man.
