Oceanside RCMP investigating suspicious disappearance of Qualicum Beach woman

Oceanside RCMP are asking for the public’s help to locate an 18-year-old woman whose disappearance from Qualicum Beach is being treated as suspicious.

Melissa Harper was reported missing on Oct. 21, 2026, the same day she was last contacted. She was last known to be in Qualicum Beach, police said.

Harper is described as five feet four inches tall and weighing about 110 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police and Harper’s family are concerned for her health and well-being, according to the RCMP.

“The circumstances of her disappearance are suspicious,” said RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Alex Bérubé. “For this reason, the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation.”

Harper has ties to both the Lower Mainland and Alberta, police said.

Anyone with information about Harper’s whereabouts is asked to contact their local police or call the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit’s information line at 250-380-6211.

Oceanside RCMP are seeking assistance to locate Melissa Harper.
