Along with a BA in Cultural Anthropology, Hergesheimer also holds an MA in Sociology from Simon Fraser University and a PhD from UBC. Having built food access projects, his bio says he advocates for the right to food and income security, community inclusion, and social justice, with a vantage point on the challenges facing the region.

A musician and artist, Greg Reid looks to run as the Independent Candidate for this riding. His bio says he studied political science, philosophy and history at Lakehead University. Reid aims to bring a new era into politics by bringing a phone app for the voting public to use. His bio says by casting a ballot electronically, voters can either ratify or veto legislation from the government at the riding level.
