Very disturbing and upsetting, Nanaimo RCMP

Nanaimo RCMP are looking for the culprits who stole 12-14 bronze vases from Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens on Cedar Road.

Police say the vases were stolen between May 12 to 17 and are used to remember loved ones and cherish their memories.

Reserve constable Gary O’Brien says this type of theft is very disturbing because of what they represent.

“Families who purchase the vases then placed them next to their loved ones are simply outraged that someone would steal something as personal as this,” he says. “Also, there is really no commercial value for bronze so overall, it just doesn’t make sense at all.”

Police say the vases vary in size but are typically between 9 to 12 inches tall and weigh two pounds.
