Drivers around Nanaimo, be aware, starting next week on April 15 equipment will be out cleaning the storm drains.
The city says crews will start in the Duke Point area, and work their way north along various streets of Nanaimo. This work involves large equipment including vacuum trucks, and workers on the road.
While cleaning, grates will be removed, so pedestrians and cyclists should be extra careful around the work zones.
Drivers are asked to approach with caution, and obey traffic control personnel’s directions. The annual catch basin cleaning program is expected to be completed by August.
