Nanaimo RCMP are investigating a hit and run that saw a woman dead earlier today.
Reserve constable Gary O’Brien says the incident happened at 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Meredith Road and Boundary Avenue where an adult woman died at the scene due to injuries from the collision.
He says a large section between Meredith and Nelson had to be closed for several hours.
“Investigators are investigating the scene,” said O’Brien. “What we have is an adult man whose taken into custody, and he is being investigated for impaired driving.”
He says they will release more details at a later point.
