City of Parksville offers public engagement on Transportation Master Plan

The City of Parksville says they plan to change their master transportation plan to ensure a coordinated, efficient, and sustainable network but before they can proceed, they need feedback from the community.

The new plan was started last July, and the city says it will include costs, impacts, and policy direction, along with an implementation plan with monitoring and expected outcomes.

The transportation plan will also address current and future needs for all modes of transportation, along with emergency services and commercial movements. The city says they plan to put the focus on the downtown section of the highway.

In a media release, the city says the goal of the new plan is to ensure safe accessible transportation while supporting a high quality of life for residents, and efficient mobility for all.

A public engagement session will be held on Mar. 5 at the Parksville Civic and Technology Centre from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
