A total of 11 cases have been confirmed at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, because of a COVID-19 outbreak.
According to Island Health, the outbreak was declared on the fifth floor of the hospital, where all patients affected are currently experiencing mild illness.
While the outbreak is on the fifth floor, Island Health says no other areas in the hospital have been affected, making it still safe for patients to visit the site for care.
They encourage you to not avoid seeking emergency care or attending appointments.
