One man is in police custody, and multiple people were evacuated from their homes during an investigation along the Sunshine Coast Highway.
Officers say while searching the home along the 4400-block of the highway, officers became concerned for their safety, and evacuated the residence and several other homes out of caution.
Officers added a specialized RCMP unit was called in to ensure the public’s safety was kept and make it safe for officers to enter and complete their search.
Police say they expected residents could return to their homes at the end of the day yesterday.
Officers add they will not comment further as it is an active investigation.
