Nanaimo RCMP are continuing their investigation into the crash which claimed the life of a 24-year-old Nanaimo man after his Toyota Yaris collided with a Dodge Caravan.
Police say they have established a timeline for the incident that happened around 9:30 p.m. on July 19 on Nanaimo Parkway.
According to a media release, the Caravan was traveling southbound at Superior Road on the parkway when it turned into the northbound lanes at Fifth Street around 9:42 that same evening where it collided with the victim’s car minutes later.
Retired Constable Gary O’Brien said in a media release establishing a chain of events is vital to aid the investigation.
“The timeline is extremely important as it establishes not only where the suspect vehicle drove from, but it provides a time reference for motorists who may not have thought to check their dashcam footage,” he says.
RCMP is still looking for anyone with dashcam footage that has not been divulged to police to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line.
