Pedestrians have a shiny new bridge to cross over the Millstone River to reach Bowen Park.
Upgrades to the bridge were needed after the old bridge was set on fire in 2019.
The new Lenhart Bridge is higher, wider, more stable and according to the city of Nanaimo was built with accessibility in mind.
The grand opening of the bridge happened yesterday after the project was almost canceled in 2022.
